The Magazine visualizes the process from the binary to the nonbinary spectrum.
Binary systems and thought patterns are criticized. The topics are Sexism, queerphobia, hierarchies and the anthropocene.
The magazine celebrates the nonbinary. The need for acceptance, dissolving hegemonial (gender-)roles and hierarchies becomes clear.
An utopia of peaceful coexistence of all humans and living creatures is visualized.
In addition to the topic, the format expands from the usual double pages to big fold-out pages. The last pages are dissolved by cut out forms to create new combinations of images and experciences for the viewer. These visuals show the exchange and the interweaving character of all living organisms.
Verena Mack won 2022 the "Förderpreis für junge Buchgestaltung" from the Stiftung Buchkunst and the Young Ones TDC Award 2022 with her magazine.
The magazine is characterized not only by the colorful illustrations and the political subject matter, but also by its unique materiality. The pages are covered with PVC foil and then UV-printed on top of the foil. This creates glossy surfaces in contrast to the matt UV print.
